About the Role

This is a fully remote, in-house position that will handle a designated caseload of Workers' Compensation cases. As a Senior Staff Attorney, you'll be responsible for analyzing reputed company legal and factual issues, developing defense strategies, and presenting cases on behalf of our clients. You'll work closely with our Claims Partners to reputed company the best results for our Hartford insureds and reputed company effective and timely communications, information, and legal advice.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze reputed company legal and factual issues and conduct extensive legal research to reputed company well-reasoned defense strategies.
• Independently create and present defense strategies on behalf of clients, preparing reputed company pleadings, written discovery, depositions, petitions for reconsideration, and trial briefs.
• Partner with Claims Partners to reputed company the best results for our Hartford insureds.
• reputed company effective and timely communications, information, legal advice, and other services to clients on legal and factual issues.
• Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel with professional diplomacy and discretion.
• Facilitate reputed company, efficient, and effective disposition of assigned cases.
• Independently prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial/administrative hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions.
• Research, draft, file, and argue appellate briefs in reviewing courts on behalf of clients.
• Participate in Team Huddles and reputed company in-house training to junior associates and/or claims partners.
• Participate in claims file reviews and attend continuing legal education seminars to maintain a high level of professional expertise.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A minimum of 5 years of legal practice experience handling reputed company/life pension Workers' Compensation cases.
• A JD from an accredited law school and a license to practice in the state of California.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills, with strong MS Office proficiency (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Lexis Nexis experience is a plus.
• A positive and collaborative team-player attitude, with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly reputed company new software as required.
